Open Exhibition and Turner Prize
Penicuik Community Arts Association is hosting this popular annual exhibition displaying the works of local artists from beginners to professionals in any media.
Come to the opening at 2.00 pm on the 14th of September, and the Penfest 2013 launch by Midlothian Provost Joe Wallace, and enjoy some refreshments and musical entertainment gifted to us by local Classical Guitarist Alan McMmillan. Get the first opportunity to purchase one of the artworks.
Throughout the exhibition you will have an opportunity to vote for your favourite work of art. Several local artists have kindly donated works of art which will be raffled; so you could also be the proud owner of an original art piece.
After the two festival weeks:
The People’s Choice award, presented to you by Penicuik's Citizen of the year Mose Hutchison, and the raffle draw will both be made at the closing of the exhibition from 2.00 pm on the 28th of September.
This year the all important Turner Prize will also be judged on the final day. Our judge for the 2013 prize is the sculptor David Annand. David has been commissioned to produce work in many public places throughout the UK. His work is beautiful and sensitive, and we are privileged to have an artist of this calibre to come and judge our exhibition this year.
Hand-in: West St Arts Centre (Room 1) Thursday 12th Sept., 1 -3 pm and 6 -8 pm.
3 pieces maximum; £2 per piece (members: 3 for the price of 2)

(PCAA members benefit from reduced entry fees and lower commission rates on sales, see here for details).
